Galeria Zé dos Bois will open, on the 14th of May, at 10PM, two solo exhibitions by Pedro Henriques (Porto, 1985) and Anne Lefebvre (Boulogne-Billancourt, 1963). Anne Lefebvre’s relationship with the Portuguese context has been made mainly through her publications. Her work often stems from manipulating the structural elements of photography to create works that establish direct dialogues with some of the practices and conceptual concerns of the historical avant-gardes. By introducing into the process of the image’s capture and revelation a set of actions mainly associated with the pictorial context, the artist establishes a universe where ambiguity, strangeness and juxtaposition prevails, and our expectations regarding the documental and informational facultis of photography are questioned.
