Coming from the West, Catarina Branco does not play hard-rock, hip-hop or dance music. Her music is not very jazzy nor has distorted screams. She does not bring an orchestra of 80+ musicians conducted by a high profile maestro. Metaleiros do not go to her concerts. Some people say it’s queer-pop-cute.
Catarina Branco debuted in early 2019 with “‘Tá Sol”, an EP of songs about friendship, love and empowerment and everything that lies on the edge and gray areas of the limits of these ideas, in an exercise of musical synthesis. Recorded at home by his own means, it was post-produced and mixed by Luís Severo, with whom he is producing his first LP.
