Is it possible to make ambient music that does not incur in alienating packaging? Is this simultaneously a structural component of this musical language and its tacit and covert purpose? Will the noise or a percussive element with roots in free jazz infuse social awareness? How many different layers of melancholic drones can be produced? Does this matter to anyone living outside the OECD? Does it have anything to do with black metal? – easy and guaranteed questions, in a musical project where the so-called experimentalism – which we all like – is approached in the light and according to these apparent contradictions. This very press release, the ultimate example of this paradox, aka antinomy.
Through the integration of the effects and manifestations of sonic popular culture in the daily life of (practically) all of us, a musical production of re-appropriation and deconstruction – dragging, gluing, repeating, demarcating – is proposed, a deconstruction in real time of this addicted musical stimulus to which we are subjected by this spectacular society.
The debut EP, ‘Fashion is Never Finished’, was recently released by Colectivo Casa Amarela, on tape and digital.
