After several explorations together over a year and a half that resulted in several projects (IN GROUPS – such as 2.9 Odd Goats or the Omniae Large Ensemble with premiere scheduled for Guimarães Jazz 2020; IN DUO – CACO.MEAL). Here we propose to find what they have not yet achieved together. Exploration of acoustics and subtlety. Open field for silence, but anything can happen.

Pedro Melo Alves
Pedro Melo Alves is one of the faces of this imminent generation of musicians restless and eager for something more, still unknown.
Having been awarded the Bernardo Sassetti Composition Prize in 2016, distinguished as National Musician of the Year in 2017 by jazz.pt and the Giorgio Gaslini International Award in 2019, he has been progressively more present on the European music scene, presenting his projects in events such as the 12 Points Festival (2018), Europe Jazz Conference (2018) or Jazzahead (2019).
João Carlos Pinto
João Carlos Pinto was born in Braga, Portugal. He studied Piano and Composition at the Gulbenkian Conservatory in Braga and graduated in Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
In 2019 he was appointed as Young Associate Composer of Victor Córdon Studios (partnership with Teatro Nacional S. Carlos and Companhia Nacional de Bailado) and selected for the academy of the ManiFeste Festival of IRCAM / Centre Pompidou.
His activity as a performer consists mainly in the use of electronic instruments that he builds and modifies himself. Highlights include Peter Evans’ Som Crescente, Pedro Melo Alves’ Omniae Ensemble and CACO.MEAL.
