Cidade dos Lobos is José Rego’s first solo show. A journey around the search for (re)discovery of a real character, in a city of apparent cosmopolitanism, of strange geographies, where the territories have itineraries and volumes deeply closed in on themselves.
Taking the whole stage as a construction space for the show, as a whole creation plan, through the constant interaction between the game of lights and the sounds that the artist extracts from the guitars, this is a journey where José Rego assimilates in his performance the facet of sound and light technician [where he is known as Zé Alho] interacting with the shadows created in the sculptures of Cassandra Ching, who populates the stage, emanating from this dialogue the original compositions of acoustic guitar that he performs.
Cidade dos Lobos thus provides an extra sensorial experience, where the presentation space is the main character, seeking to take the spectator on an almost cinematographic journey where the dialogue is built, with each one of us, in the reading of the signs offered by the vibrating guitar strings that emanate from his compositions.
