Launch of José de Guimarães International Center for the Arts editions ⟡ OTSOA (DJ set)

The publications of the Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães [José de Guimarães International Center for the Arts] are extensions of the museum’s artistic thinking and deepen themes around the collections, the work of José de Guimarães and guest artists.

At ZDB will be launched the most recent publications concerning the museum’s artistic program “On the Margins of Fiction 2021-2022“:

“Complexo Colosso”;
“Francisca Carvalho, Cosmic Tones”;
“Fernão Cruz, Quarto Blindado”;
“Priscila Fernandes, Escola de Lazer”;
“As ‘maternidades’ africanas na coleção de José e Guimarães”;
“Virgínia Mota, Diário Atmosférico”;
“Rodrigo Hernández, ‘Pasado'”;
“Sala das Máscaras: Sarah Maldoror | Pedro Henriques”;
“Mitos… Non… Avesso…, José de Guimarães, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Manoel de Oliveira, Horácio Frutuoso, Anna Franceschini”.

After the launch, OTSOA will be in charge of the party, a DJ set that echoes another editorial plan, deeply complementary to the one presented above, the independent one.

The publications will be available for sale at ZDB’s bookstore, as well as CIAJG and Palácio Vila Flor’s editorial catalog (A OFICINA).

OTSOA

João Soares, also known as DJ Otsoa, born and based in Porto, currently as producer at Passos Manuel Club, co-founder of Mera Label and Coletivo Ócio, brings his unique energy to the dancefloor, always leaving a trace in the people who listen to him and in the space that receives him. His school of electro, acid, and breakbeat develops along his path, not leaving behind the Detroit influences that guide him until today. He lets himself be carried away by energetic music and transposes this into an underground environment, where it is impossible to stand still and where the music is the focus. A great channel for culture in the city of Porto, he has been exploring his aesthetics throughout the city’s clubs and motivating everyone and everything to promote his work, both with his label and his attitude. He is an element of the city’s underground culture and, since 2018, his music and his sharing are present in the music scene, always cultivating the audience around him.
