Miguel Negrão is a sound artist, originally from Lisbon.
Having spent the last 9 years in Holland and the UK studying music by computer, he is now back in the Portuguese capital. He is interested in creating intense and immersive musical experiences, which affect the perception of the passage of time and invite research into the interior of sounds. Much of his production has therefore been integrated into the subgenres drone and environment. In his work he uses mostly sound synthesis and computer controlled signal processing, using algorithmic composition methods and various configurations ! His work has been presented in several festivals, spaces and radio programs in Europe such as Sonar Festival (ES) or Deutschlandradio Kultur (DE). He presented pieces for the Wave Field Synthesis multichannel systems of the Game of Life Foundation (NL) and TUBerlin University (DE), as well as for the Acousmonium of GRM (FR) and the Sonic Lab of SARC (UK).
