In their first meeting in duo, it seems that Pedro Branco and João Carlos Pinto will find the answer to these questions and many others.

João Carlos Pinto
João Carlos Pinto was born in Braga, Portugal. He studied Piano and Composition at the Gulbenkian Conservatory in Braga and graduated in Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
In 2019 he was appointed as Young Associate Composer of Victor Córdon Studios (partnership with Teatro Nacional S. Carlos and Companhia Nacional de Bailado) and selected for the academy of the ManiFeste Festival of IRCAM / Centre Pompidou.
His activity as a performer consists mainly in the use of electronic instruments that he builds and modifies himself. Highlights include Peter Evans’ Som Crescente, Pedro Melo Alves’ Omniae Ensemble and CACO.MEAL.
Pedro Branco
Pedro Branco is one of the most requested young guitarists in the national panorama. He moves both in the area of improvised music and in the universe of independent music in Portugal. His discography includes several projects as co-leader such as João Hasselberg & Pedro Branco (Clean Feed), EEL SLAP! and currently Old Mountain whose records were released in early 2020 by Nischo Records. He is also a member of projects such as You Can’t Win, Charlie Brown or Tiago Bettencourt. In 2013 he receives an honorable mention during the “Festa do Jazz São Luiz” for “Best Instrumentalist” and in 2018 he receives the Revelation of the Year Musician Award given by RTP/Jazz Festival.
