Samuel Gapp is a German pianist and composer, living in Lisbon.
He studied jazz at the Escola Superior de Música in Cologne, Germany, and at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
In 2019 he won the Bernardo Sassetti Composition Prize with his music for string quartet and jazz trio, as well as the Young Musicians Prize with the quartet of saxophonist Tomás Marques.
After graduating in 2019, Samuel Gapp decided to stay in Portugal to live.
In addition to his musical projects, he also collaborates in interdisciplinary projects. In September 2020 his audiovisual installation “Social Distancing” was exhibited at the Zaratan gallery in Lisbon, ending with a performance in which music dialogued with the visual arts.
At the moment Gapp works with several groups, in different countries, having collaborated with musicians such as Peter Evans, Evan Parker, Christian Lillinger, Peter Brotzmann, among others.

The concert will take place at the Aquário, being compliant with the rules of social distancing provided by the DGS. The capacity is limited and use of mask is mandatory.
