An authentic live platform based in Berlin, Soul Feeder already has a solid track record when it comes to promoting new electronic and related music. On this unique night of residency at Galeria Zé dos Bois, it brings together six names that reflect diverse musical forms and expressions.
Soul Feeder c/ 7777 の天使, Dianna Excel, t0ni, FARWARMTH, nëss, SAETERN
Singer and author from Lisbon, brings a lyrical intimism impossible not to connect, spineless. Worldly songs based on delicate and minimalist compositions, somewhere between the best independent folk. It makes room for some wide-eyed electronica and a post-punk soul as a holistic element. Affiliated to Troublemaker Records, nëss has been presenting an ongoing essential and always fascinating work. The latest EP Mess further deepens the matter, in an example of purity and greater scope.
It’s been a while since Afonso Ferreira has been creating an underworld of his own. Behind the identity FARWARMTH has already demonstrated where he comes from and where he wants to go. A legitimate claim to find non-linear paths, knowing how to avoid formulas and keep the flame alive in this quest. Momentary Glow, edited by the indispensable Planet Mu, is perhaps their golden opus. A work that reveals mastery in the work of micro-melodies, sound fragmentation and an almost glacial beauty before a collection of images and sounds, here filtered and returned to reality almost by magic.
An artist with a profoundly multidisciplinary outlook, Excel is an example of life and art, hand in hand. Once again, music emerges as a privileged channel to translate restlessness, challenges, and transformations. XL is a beautiful and complex treatise on the imaginary and improbable places he discovers along twelve portals in the form of a hybrid song, halfway through the installation. It is at the threshold of things’ existence that Dianna Excel makes it all happen. Implosions, explosions and other emotional infusions in a brilliant and shrewd proposal for these times on the razor’s edge.
An ad hoc meeting between Swan Palace and DRVGジラ, they illustrate one of the most enigmatic cases in the music produced here. Visually captivating on stage, they propose an insular sound understanding between genres such as trap, gabber or rock of a more sonic lineage; possible, and not definitive, elements of a genuinely innovative language. A sense of urgency, as it should be.
Founder and mentor of Soul Feeder and Electronic avantgardeposting™, t0ni is a born agitator, moving in a community that he has been creating and nurturing. He works on emotions in their most primal state, taking them to a limitless rise and expansion as a producer and dj. He was part of the prestigious CTM program in 2020 and, little by little, he has been affirming himself as a key figure in the current electronic experimentation. At ZDB, he will bring a selection of meshes to the dancefloor after the concerts that will mark the night.
Saetern is a dj born in Lisbon’s rave scene. Resident and active member of the queer collective Arvi, she marks Lisbon nights with the crossing of genres like gabber and hardcore, searching for the perfect balance between ethereal melodies and harsh beats, believing that it is through this duality that one finds the path to catharsis.
