IMPROMPTU PROJECTS, is a multidisciplinary design and architecture studio based in Macau founded by João Ó and Rita Machado. It aims to develop a practice oriented research, experimental projects, publication and production of artistic and cultural events, in which the fundamental posture of its emerging practice converges to space research and critical approach. The studio is focused on projects of ephemeral architecture, as well as the study of its social relevance. IMPROMPTU PROJECTS proposes a kind of architecture that is aware of the current situation of the territory, aiming at the exploitation of unlikely public places and the involvement of the community in a critical participation of the urban space with facilities, events and urban art.
