On a night of sparkles, lights and city pop, Toshiba Girls and their Dreams invite everyone to dream.
Toshiba Dreams emerged from the exchange and sharing of a Toshiba film camera; and from some ‘failed’ images, because the camera is for filming and not for photography. The failed images and ideas became the object of desire.
Through the constant exchanges, images began to emerge that one no longer knew to whom they belonged – they were now shared memories. Mixed. Merged. Collective and not just personal. Memories, dreams, places and situations that could belong to anyone. Which we now want them to belong to everyone.
Toshiba Girls, Felipa Almeida and Maria Cortesão, is a newly born creative duo. They are interested in everything, from memories to dreams, in all formats and realisations. By sharing images and imaginary they try to remember, create and bring to light the dreams of each and every one.
Practically unknown outside Japan, Spike Speagle presents for the first time in Portugal, at Galeria Zé dos Bois, with a set that fluctuates between the mystery that makes flowers bloom in spring and the cool breeze that caresses our faces on long summer car journeys. Let’s dance together towards the sunset.
