TRIZ is a duo recently formed by Beatriz Pessoa and Pedro Branco. Influenced by Brazilian music and the new indie pop, this is a musical project that seeks to unite the acoustic universe with the electronic domain, exploring Pessoa’s voice with Pedro Branco’s guitar and synthesizers. TRIZ also marks the beginning of Beatriz Pessoa’s new recording work, an album that will be produced by the singer-songwriter Marcelo Camelo.

Beatriz Pessoa

Portuguese singer and songwriter, Beatriz Pessoa studied at Hot Clube de Portugal and Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where she completed her degree in Voice with distinction.
After a season in Paris, she began composing, released her first work in 2016: the EP Insects. In 2018 she dives into original compositions, which result in the EP II.
In her still short but promising career, Beatriz Pessoa has already stepped on some of the most important stages of national festivals and international venues, of which the NOS Alive festival, Meo Marés Vivas, Superbock in Stock or Audio Rebel, in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019 she recorded her first LP Primaveras in Rio de Janeiro, alongside with musicians such as Gilberto Gil and Rubel.

Pedro Branco

Pedro Branco is one of the most requested young guitarists in the national panorama. He moves both in the area of improvised music and in the universe of independent music in Portugal. His discography includes several projects as co-leader such as João Hasselberg & Pedro Branco (Clean Feed), EEL SLAP! and currently Old Mountain whose records were released in early 2020 by Nischo Records. He is also a member of projects such as You Can’t Win, Charlie Brown or Tiago Bettencourt. In 2013 he receives an honorable mention during the “Festa do Jazz São Luiz” for “Best Instrumentalist” and in 2018 he receives the Revelation of the Year Musician Award given by RTP/Jazz Festival.
