‘From sordid comedy to love drama, the work tells the story of Aimé, a woman who lives in a room adjacent to the Masked Ball. Sousa is the one who organizes the party and who constructs Aimé’s disguise to her liking: clothes, wig, wallet, and also bleaches her skin. A woman with remnants of a disguise, or a disguise with remnants of a woman.’
To tell this story is, therefore, to narrate how a body is crossed by another voice.
