Cláudio da Silva has worked with Teatro Praga, Miguel Loureiro, João Fiadeiro, Miguel Pereira, Jorge Silva Melo (Artistas Unidos), Rogério de Carvalho (Almada Theatre Company and Teatro do Bolhão), Pablo Fidalgo, Ricardo Aibéo, Mário Trigo, Madalena Vitorino, Jean-Paul Bucchieri, Inês de Medeiros, Carlos Pessoa (Teatro da Garagem), Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, Ana Borralho and João Galante, Nuno Cardoso, Rita Natálio, João Samões, Gonçalo Amorim (Teatro Experimental do Porto), Manuel Wiborg and António Pires (Teatro do Bairro). Co-directed with Manuel Wiborg “Debaixo da Cidade”, “O Meu Blackie de Arne Sierens” for Artistas Unidos and “Felizmente Há Luar”, by Sttau Monteiro, for TEP. He co-created “Teatro Fantasma”, with Carla Bolito, “O3”, with Pedro Nunez, and created “Poeta Armando”. In cinema, he worked with Solveig Nordlund, Jorge Cramez, José Pinto Nogueira, Luís Galvão Telles, Ico Costa, Paulo B. Menezes, Patrick Mendes and João Botelho. He received the SPA/RTP prize for Best Film Actor for his interpretation in “Filme do Desassossego” by João Botelho, and the SIC/Caras prize for Best Theatre Actor for his interpretation in “Se Isto É Um Homem” by Rogério de Carvalho. On television, he participated in the series “Inspector Max”, “Liberdade 21”, “Dez”, “Aqui Tão Longe” and “Terra Brava”.

Pedro Paiva attended the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon and the UDK, Universität der Künste, in Berlin. He has been working as a visual artist since 2001, when he started an artistic partnership with João Maria Gusmão, which continues until today. This path has been developed as questioning zones, between philosophical thought and essayistic practice, in which different themes, materials and techniques intersect – film/sculpture/theatre, installations/object theatre, darkrooms/solid cinema, magic lanterns/Japanese print, analogue photography/scientific experiments, etc. Over the last 20 years, his work has been presented in several museum exhibitions, art galleries, cinemas, or even on the stage of the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, curated by John Romão, as part of the first edition of BoCA, in 2017. Highlights of his trajectory include the solo exhibitions “Terçolho” (2021), at Serralves Museum, Porto; “Where The Sorcerer Doesn’t Dare To Stick His Nose and Another B&W Ghost Show” (2018), at Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York; “Lua Cão” (2016/18), with artist Alexandre Estrela, at Galeria Zé dos Bois, Lisbon, Kunstverein Munchen, Munich, and La Casa Encendida, Madrid; “The Sleeping Eskimo” (2016) at Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau, Switzerland; and “Experiments and Observations on Different Kinds of Air” (2009), part of the Portuguese Representation at the 53th Venice Biennale, Italy.
