In what is undoubtedly a special appearance, which also marks his return to the ZDB “home”, Rafael Toral presents a reunion with his valuable guitar repertoire under the name “Guitar Concert” on two consecutive nights with different lineups. In a Lisbon premiere, and in a rare expanded version, Toral presents in an intimate and vulnerable way all the themes from his latest album ‘Traveling Light’, creations not yet recorded on disc such as ‘Long Ways’ and ‘Layers’, material from the acclaimed ‘Spectral Evolution’ and pieces from the classics ‘Sound Mind Sound Body’ and ‘Violence of Discovery and Calm of Acceptance’. In essence, it is a celebration on the guitar of a journey spanning four decades of constant exploration, in a process of continuous discovery, relearning, and total immersion in his own music. Far from ending, always open. Or, as he wrote so honestly, “a celebration of beauty and light, a humble attempt to honor the notion of music as a ‘healing force of the universe.’” Bravo.
