Unveiling new forms of connection, both personal and collective, in the performative act, Xavier Paes and Inês Tartaruga Água are an essential duo in the panorama of contemporary free languages.
Over three weeks, the duo will inhabit the space of ZDB 8 Marvila, as part of the “OPUS SUPO” cycle. At the end of this period, they will present a new piece, conceived during the residency, as well as two pieces that have never before been presented in Lisbon.

With a permanently open research project in dialogue with the natural manifestations that surround them, they find unusual places where small but significant revelations dwell. Sometimes planned, sometimes accidental, these discoveries arise from a state of genuine curiosity.
Through sound, visuals, or the body, they take space-time as a hybrid archive of moments in flux: always alive in matter, always untameable in its spiritual manifestations. Their resistance to closed formats is not just a conscious stance, an aesthetic militancy, or a political cry; it emerges naturally from their way of being, thinking, and feeling in an essentially transitory universe.
