Galeria Zé dos Bois

fotografia por David Pinheiro Vicente

The exhibition can be visited until January 10, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Fogo impetuoso is the name we have given to this evening, which brings together our three practices and which began with an invitation I extended to Gui and Zé to celebrate our artistic affinities and friendship.
Over the past two years, I have devoted myself to photographing friends and family. For this exhibition, I revisit a photograph of my cousin Margarida.
Based on this image, we reflect on youth and its end, a concern of photography, music, and poetry since their inception.
To this end, Gui has prepared a selection of his own poems and those of various authors, which he will read aloud, and Zé has prepared a selection of songs from our adolescence, which he will sing, accompanied by Kika.
Also on display are two portraits of Gui made for this occasion.

What is a youth?
Impetuous fire
What is a maid?
Ice and desire
The world wags on

A rose will bloom
It then will fade
So does a youth
So does the fairest maid

Nino Rota, “What is a youth? Love theme from Romeo and Juliet”, 1968
