P857 is a spatial and conceptual intervention that refuses to perform visibility on imposed terms. In a time when the image is weaponised and narratives are coerced into legibility, P857 explores absence not as a void, but as resistance. Through installation, sculpture, video, and spatial markings, it stages a confrontation with the violence of representation and the demand for self- disclosure. We do not exhibit stories; we guard them.

P857 begins at the threshold of vision, in a context where the Genocide unfolds in Gaza not as an event but as an extended and drawn-out operation, and at a moment when narratives collapse under the hammer of structural scepticism, and the image becomes a pliable tool in the hands of those who shape our violation. We choose not to respond with sight, but with something that transcends it: the invisible.

We do not offer more visibility. We do not comply with the expectation to display.

Instead, we position ourselves deliberately in the space of refusal—at the edge of the visible—where abstention becomes an ethical act. Not absence as erasure, but absence as an artistic choice.

We do not flee from the image, but confront its structural violence by asking the question: Must everything that can be seen be seen? Must everything that is said be said?

The works in this exhibition are not meant to be deciphered, but felt. Not to reveal, but to suggest. Not to document, but to withhold.

Here, boundaries are drawn to protect meaning from exhaustion—to resist the turning of intimate stories into data, into records, into material for classification. Through strategic negation, the exhibition explores emptiness as a language that weaves its presence into absence. The invisible as a counter-force to structural and colonial violence.

Dahaleez Collective

Dahaleez is a research art collective founded in 2021 by Gaza-based artists and researchers Khaled Jarada, Rehaf Batniji, Salman Nawati, Majdal Nateel, Carmel Abbasi, Mahmoud Abu Warda, and Mahmoud Al-Shaer. It began with the collaborative project “Geography of Divine Magic” at the Beit Al-Ghussein Cultural and Heritage House in Gaza, exploring Palestinians’ temporal and spatial realities under siege. Dahaleez develops analytical and exploratory tools to examine the social and political forces shaping visions of liberation and reconstruction of Palestine. The collective encourages collaboration with artists and cultural workers in Gaza through workshops, reflective meetings, and co-production exercises.
