It is up to us to understand why the world is haunted, it is up to us to present new solutions and proposals that will allow us to ward off the specters that torment us. In everyday life, the turmoil repeats itself like sharp guitars, distorted synthesizers, songs cursed by the ghosts of the past that are so stubborn to return.
In the midst of this pandemonium known as life, SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE attempts to paint the colors of a promised imaginary world where this chaos is transformed into encouragement, where this chaos is transformed into peace. In their songs, which are as sinister as they are catchy, Zack Schwartz, Rivka Ravede, and Corey Wichlin propose that pop can (and should) be weird, singing that life is as fascinating and weird as it is cursed.
With more than ten years of career and already five studio albums under their belt, SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE’s indie-pop-shoegaze-neo-psychedelic songs could come from the past to haunt us or from the future to bless us. What is the reality we find ourselves in? The answer is up to each of us.
