The Visual Arts Residences at Galeria Zé dos Bois have always had as their main objective the creation of a space of shared critical thinking and debate, in which participants are invited to present their artistic production processes and to reflect on them together.
For this edition, ZDB invited Alice dos Reis, Igor Jesus, Joana Burd, and Rodrigo Gomes, four artists who, through the intersection of art and technology, have been exploring similar issues using different media as vehicles of creation. In this sense, the participants will occupy the exhibition rooms of the ZDB, between March 4th and April 24th, 2020, transforming them into their workspaces. In addition to a studio space, the ZDB Residences also provide their participants with production conditions and a program of parallel activities with guests from different research fields that meet the themes explored by the group of residents.
