Oficina Arara is a collective founded in 2010. Based in an alley in Porto, it is a laboratory of psychotropic activity and sonic-visual inflammation, equipped to work in screen printing under the autistic mechanics of its Brutemberg. It is designed as an autonomous and open space for experimentation around the production of posters, books and other creations, trying to establish a direct, continuous and uninterrupted relationship between the act of drawing and the one of printing.
Oficina Arara periodically opens its door to different moments of encounter and collective catharsis, synesthetic manifestations and ritual exorcisms that are the extension of its action, in a cyclical re-writing of communal time and territory.
The team includes, from the past and the present: Miguel Carneiro, Pedro Nora, João Alves, Luís Silva, Bruno Borges, Dayana Lucas, Daniela Duarte, Ruca Bourbon, Von Calhau, Rui Silva, Irina Pereira, Mariya Nesvyetaylo… and is supervised by Miguel Carneiro + João Alves + Bruno Borges.
