Femtanyl

It is on the threshold of borders that these gray zones are found—places belonging to no one and nothing. Aesthetically, Femtanyl turns these non-places into a real-life laboratory, applying a lens of hyper-augmented reality. Noelle Mansbridge and Juno Callender form the guerrilla duo seeking chaos, excitement, and hedonism in a pop outburst entangled in deliberately broken and disorienting electronics. Sharing the disruptive spark of acts like Aya, Deli Girls, or even in the memory of Atari Teenage Riot, they turn sonic terrorism into an open channel for exploring the digital world. By creating QR-code songs with references to avatars, memes, or video games, they also place us firmly in this present moment, saturated with information and distortion. An energy representative of the present and the need to let off steam.
The intense activity on their Bandcamp has been releasing grenade-like tracks, illustrating the ever-changing imagery they’ve been creating. And perhaps it would be hard to imagine that freaks of this caliber would reach the ears of one of the most iconic rappers in the independent scene. When Danny Brown invited them to participate in his latest album and tour, he knew that from them would come that visceral instinct that has always guided him as well. Meanwhile, the EPs Reactor and Chaser paved the way and laid the groundwork for a highly anticipated full-length album. Recently released, MAN BITES DOG brings together a dozen sensory bombs, genuine gems for the most intense celebrations in search of a wild time.
Their uncompromising attitude allows Femtanyl to embrace a way of being that not only attracts but also infects. They derive pleasure from excess and show how to turn the world upside down. They sweep through Lisbon like a fleeting hurricane, two days before taking the stage at Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
