A leading figure in the national avant-garde scene, David Maranha belongs to a select group of musicians who, far from the media spotlight, have been transforming musical creation in this country. A pioneer in free sound languages, he made Osso Exótico one of the first Portuguese groups to gain international recognition – even if only within a limited circle. This historical significance is complemented by the uniqueness of his solo work and the wide range of appearances, collaborations and projects he is involved in (spanning generations of musicians and admirers).
