SISMO–SINAL is a workshop that explores the translation of seismic signals into sound, images, sensory effects and material forms.
Alexandre Estrela’s Réplicas, currently on display at Galeria Zé dos Bois, serve as a case study for examining how scientific research and technical experimentation can be incorporated into artistic creation processes.
The workshop will be run by 11 students on the Master’s degree programme in Fine Arts at ESAD Caldas da Rainha, under the supervision of artists with interdisciplinary practices and scientists specialising in robotics and behavioural neuroscience, and will include a collective presentation of the experiments carried out.
