Le film que vous allez voir (2023)
Histoire de la Révolution (2019)

Le film que vous allez voir (The Film You Are About to See), Maxime Martinot, 2023, 11′
The film we are about to see is constructed from real material from the history of cinema. Any collusion between art and industry, between creative freedom and the law, is purely coincidental and unintentional.

Tre Ipotesi sulla Morte di Pinelli (Three Hypotheses on the Death of Giuseppe Pinelli), Elio Petri and Nelo Risi, 1970, 11′
Reconstruction of the hypotheses put forward by the police regarding the death of anarchist Giuseppe Pinelli, interpreted by actors from the Grupo de Teatro de Rua. The film reveals the long history of police persecution of anarchists, exposing state terrorism during the “Years of Lead” in Italy.

Le passant intégral (To a Passerby), Léo Richard, 2017, 12′
A talented extra, perhaps one of the most talented in the history of cinema, laments the destruction of his craft by the inevitable development of digital crowds.

The Girl Chewing Gum, John Smith, 1976, 12′
As random events unfold on a busy, ordinary London street, an authoritative voice-over guides the action.

Histoire de la Révolution (History of Revolution), Maxime Martinot, 2019, 30′
An ironic title for a film essay that explores the polysemy and reversibility of the word revolution, through a compilation of images and words that, in an ahistorical movement, weave a map of struggles—namely their mourning, their glories, and their traces—between past and present.
