GRAFITa, a performance installation by Afonso Costa, is intended to be a succession of developments and questions, all revolving around the material graphite (pure carbon). Exploring this material as a starting point for a sensory and collective experience and for a composition of works at the intersection of the visual arts, performing arts, sound environments, and cinema.
Matter, space, time, notions, and transformations.
Graphite becomes a starting point for investigating human and natural processes, connecting with physical and metaphysical dimensions.
For three and a half hours: two atomic clocks, two performers, screen-printed installations, a musician manipulating the sound environment, a film shot in sequence at the Viarco factory, and a DJ set by the team.
