WEDNESDAY 3RD / 9PM
Luís Vicente, John Edwards and Vasco Trilla ← José Lencastre, Jonas Cambien, Michael Formanek and João Lencastre
With two albums released as a duo, Luís Vicente and Vasco Trilla have joined forces with the legendary British bassist John Edwards. Embracing the creative side of free jazz with the nuances of free improvisation, this trio’s music ranges from the most refined execution, with textures and condensations, to hell.
The first part of the concert features a group composed of four other prominent figures in jazz and improvised music: José Lencastre on saxophone, Jonas Cambien on piano, Michael Formanek on bass, and João Lencastre on drums.

Asuna Arashi presents 100 Keyboards @ZDB 8 Marvila
100 Keyboards is a live musical performance featuring over 100 toy keyboards.
The performance focuses on the phenomenon of “interference sound.” By changing the direction of listening as Asuna moves across the keyboards, the complex sounds and resonances in the space will produce different buzzes, loops, and beats every minute. An auditory experience similar to weaving a “textile pattern”—the original meaning of “moiré”—with each ear.

WEDNESDAY 10TH / 9PM
Má Estrela presents Tornada ← Carolina Miragaia
Má Estrela began as an idea by Pedro Alves Sousa to combine jazz and different elements of electronic music, and suddenly expanded thanks to the different affinities of its various members—currently, Pedro Alves Sousa on saxophone, Bruno Silva and Simão Simões on electronics, Gabriel Ferrandini on drums, and Bruna de Moura on electric bass. The new album, Tornada, shows Má Estrela in constant flow, unaware of what it means to be adrift and certain that what they produce is close to perfection. Whether for dancing or not.
Carolina Miragaia’s compositions exist somewhere between euphoric electronic dreams with a pop touch and a deconstructed emotional feeling, which in turn can be perpetuated in the strings of a guitar, a voice in metamorphosis, or resonant water bubbles.

Carrier ← Alëna Koleso ← Lournco Lvgs
Somewhere between continuous transgression and artistic honesty, Guy Alexander Brewer has shaken up the British electronic scene. His current pseudonym, Carrier, lies at a sidereal altitude, made up of rhythmic insights and dynamics closer to dub, where the sonic pulse takes on a structural role. With his debut album Lazy Mechanics, Carrier has established himself as one of the superlative names in contemporary electronic music.
Visual and sound artist Alëna Koleso mixes field recordings and spontaneous discoveries, jumping between genres and seeking new connections.
The sound of the multifaceted Lournco Lvgs bridges the hedonistic dance floor with the cerebral and introspective.

Super Ballet: Maria Reis ← Vaiapraia ← Duo Vilar Seco
One of the most cherished and respected voices in Portuguese music, Maria Reis has left us a legacy that will undoubtedly endure in the country’s musical canon. Her latest album, Suspiro…, reflects a lyrical maturity and arrangements that are only possible for someone who has recognized all the previous teachings in order to reach a new level of songwriting for eternity.
Rodrigo Vaiapraia started out with lo-fi recordings in his bedroom and headed towards a destination with several stops, whether solo, in a trio, with a band, or in a multitude of collaborations. Vaiapraia brings a new concert format, marked by music and theater, visions and narratives, and always the voice: sung, shouted, spoken, and repeated.
Duo Vilar Seco is Júlia Reis and Pedro Marques. Under renewed alchemy and two daughters later, they return to the mixer and bring assorted treasures in their suitcase.
