These two creators from the field of electronic dance music accepted the challenge of Filho Único and its program Noites de Verão for an artist residency; a commissioning of original music in collaboration and using Ambisonics. Held last March in Bergen, Norway, in partnership with Ekko and the support of EEA Grants, the piece ‘O Nosso Pão’ was developed under the auspices of Ambisonics, a 360-degree method of recording, mixing and playing three-dimensional audio. Originating in government academia in the 1970s in the UK, it has slowly but gradually gained international recognition with the development of the Virtual Reality industry. Besides the inspiration we seek to offer the public through the encounter of these two contemporary European luminaries and the new music produced, our goal is also to spread Ambisonics to the communities of musicians and composers, visual artists, art and sound engineering students, as a valuable, free-use tool for artistic practice and the development of aesthetic proposals of expanded horizons.
