solos is an ongoing research project that emerged from the segundas na z program.
Drawing on the inherent qualities of the solo, different people are invited and challenged to look inward at their practice and to expand and reimagine new boundaries for what a solo can be.
A collective is as strong—or stronger—as the recognition of the countless solos that compose it.
How can a solo inform the collective? How does the structure and survival of the collective also depend on the strength and design of the different solos?

Lua Aurora

In a world where our attention is constantly bombarded and overwhelmed by an excess of information and stimuli, a desire arises to slow down time, to contemplate the end of a cycle—a slow death—and to celebrate a new beginning, free from imposed schedules and rhythms. A body, a solo over solo.

Lua Aurora

Was born in the spring a little over two decades ago (yes, in Lisbon). A Gemini twin, she’s crazy about dancing but never knows the steps; some say she’s a bit slow, but in reality she likes to take her time and reflect. Sometimes she has an identity crisis and doesn’t know if she’s a person or a cactus in the desert because drinking water is a quarterly event. She gets extremely worked up during conversations about politics—maybe it’s from dehydration or her asthma.
