A Outra Casa da Praia (The Other House on the Beach) is a complementary project, a B version of A Casa da Praia (The House on the Beach): it presents the same events, follows the journey of the same family, but favours the point of view of the women who make it up. Born in Portugal in the 1940s, they emigrated to Mozambique in the 1960s and became part of the same family. It is an account that evokes the family sphere, the everyday environment that these women built in the city of Nampula (Mozambique) where they emigrated at a young age; the parental and family relationships they established; and it follows their return to Portugal after the 25 April Revolution in the wider context of a country that was not prepared for the arrival of so many returnees.
