Individual exhibition by Pedro Henriques.

Galeria Zé dos Bois will open, on the 14th of May, at 10PM, two solo exhibitions by Pedro Henriques (Porto, 1985) and Anne Lefebvre (Boulogne-Billancourt, 1963). Pedro Henriques’s relationship with ZDB grew tighter in 2015 when the artist installed a studio in one of the Association’s rooms, in what is an ongoing, long-term residency. During this period, and following a close and regular contact with Natxo Checa, Pedro Henriques has furthered a body of work that explores the boundaries between image and object, putting forth increasingly sophisticated challenges to the viewer’s perceptual ability and testing the survival of the image at the time of its growing exhaustion.

Pedro Henriques

Pedro Henriques was born in 1985 in Porto, Portugal. He studied painting at the Lisbon Faculty of Fine Arts. His work has been regularly exhibited since 2008. From his recent exhibitions, we highlight those presented in spaces such as Quartel da Arte Contemporânea – Coleção Figueiredo Ribeiro, Abrantes (2018); Národní Galerie, Prague (2017); Galeria Pedro Alfacinha, Lisbon (2016); Museu de Serralves, Porto (2014 and 2016). He edited two books, both called Sidewinder (2013 and 2015). He was finalist of the Prémio EDP Novos Artistas in 2013 and winner of the Novo Banco Revelação award in 2014.
