ZDB welcomes 5iveFs to present a fresh rendition of Lulu Raczka's acclaimed play, Nothing. This immersive theatrical journey, directed by Craig Viveiros and underscored by Batu, ensures an unforgettable evening that you won't want to miss!

Step into the unknown with the electrifying production of Lulu Raczka’s award-winning play ‘Nothing’, a theatrical experience that pushes boundaries and challenges perceptions. Under the direction of award-winning film-maker Craig Viveiros, this immersive journey delves deep into the complexities of human existence, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. Viveiros, known for his work in film and television, brings a cinematic edge to the stage.

The iconic electronic producer, Batu, composes the music for the show. Batu’s bold soundscapes and compositions guide the audience as they navigate the character’s journey within the performance.

The production is further elevated by a dynamic and up-and-coming cast drawn from diverse backgrounds, seamlessly blending talents from Portugal, Brazil, the UK and the US, this international ensemble brings a rich tapestry of perspectives to the stage, adding depth and authenticity to the narrative.

‘Nothing’ explores the universal themes of love, loss, and the search for meaning in an increasingly chaotic world. With an edgy and thought-provoking approach, this production promises to captivate audiences, inviting them to confront the void within and emerge with a renewed sense of connection to the human experience. Lulu Raczka

Lulu Raczka is an award-winning writer. She is Company Director of Barrel Organ, with whom she worked on her first play ‘Nothing’. ‘Nothing’ was awarded The Sunday Times Playwriting Award as well as the National Student Drama Festival Award for Creative Risk. Lulu’s Clytemnestra formed part of the Gate Theatre’s Iphigenia Quartet and her play Grey Man was produced as part of the Shakespeare in Shoreditch Festival and at Theatre503, London. Her first original television series, ‘Lena the Psychic’, is in development with Expanded Media. Her latest play, ‘Women, beware the devil’, was directed by Rupert Gould at the Almeida.

Craig Viveiros

Craig Viveiros is an award-winning writer, director and producer working in Film, TV and Theatre, whose notable credits include the record-breaking adaptation of Agatha Christie’s ‘And Then There Were None’, Bafta-winning drama ‘Rillington Place’, and Mammoth Screen’s adaptation of The War of the Worlds, as well as directing two feature films, The Liability and Ghosted, for which he won Best Director at the New York International Film Festival. Craig is currently directing Breathtaking, co-written and exec produced by Jed Mercurio, based on bestselling author Dr Rachel Clarke’s book of the same name.

Batu

Batu has carved out a unique sound for himself since his debut in 2013. Subsequent 12″s on a number of labels including XL Recordings, Hessle Audio and his own Timedance imprint have found him grounded in British bassbin principles. His style however is relentlessly forward thinking, and pushing his sound in adventurous, inventive ways that have become something of a signature aesthetic. His efforts have given him a number of critically acclaimed years, including a series of standout EPs, remixes for Sampha and R&S Records, and establishing Timedance as one of the most vital proponents of fresh UK dance music.
